FLOODCHECK WINS CONTRACT TO PROTECT THE LONDON ATHLETES VILLAGE FROM FLOOD DAMAGE
Floodcheck flood prevention solutions have been installed throughout the Athletes’ Village 2012 in Stratford, East London, to protect the 2818 flats from disruptive flood damage during the games, and to keep them safe for years to come as they become home to thousands of Londoners. Paul Harvey MD of WPS Ltd stated: “We were approached by one of our customers Lend Lease Ltd to source a Flood prevention device for their 2012 Olympic Athletes Village project. After extensive research into the flood prevention products on the market, it was very apparent that the best product was Floodcheck. We met the inventor William Saint himself to discuss Lend Lease Ltd. roll out requirements and received the order for the supply. It was important we dealt with a company who had an established track record, and was reputable. With the Olympics 2012 being the biggest project currently in the UK, it was fundamental that the right supplier was chosen for the job.
Having met different Insurance Companies and Brokers who confirmed that there are now some Insurance policies NOT providing “Escape of Water” claims cover unless they have Floodcheck installed, we now advise all our WPS Ltd customers to specify and include Floodcheck in all their projects. This is recommended as many problems with “Escape of water” can occur way before the project is finished and occupied, causing extensive damage to construction and sensitive electrical systems. We are now consulting and designing Floodcheck solutions for some of our other clients at WPS Ltd, helping to protect them from flooding on their projects giving them peace of mind.
Adam Saint MD Floodcheck stated” it was a pleasure working with WPS Ltd and Lend Lease Ltd on this very exciting project, and we are very proud to be a part of British history ensuring the Athletes competing in London Olympics are protected from Flood damage disruption.
